bye bye, Firefox

I learnt today that Google Chrome already owns 20% of the web browsers market. It is an important figure, and the main consequence is that our beloved Firefox may well very soon (less than two years) follow Netscape’s fate.

Two facts :

1. Internet Explorer is back in the race. IE9 is good, and IE10 will be better. IE10 will be even more than better in its Windows “8” tablet integration.

2. Google promotes massively Chrome in medias all over the world. More importantly : Google.com shows an ads “Browse the web faster” for Chrome if you use Internet Explorer. Looking at the 80%+ market shares of Google’s search engine, no one can survive against that.

This is why the future of our good ol’ Firefox seems very cloudy.
